The Artist

Hi, I’m Tam, an artist based in London with a degree in Fine Art and Art History from Goldsmiths. I create unique and colourful abstract paintings infused with energy.

Through abstract art I have found a means to explore and give form to my inner world, allowing it to unfold through colour and shape. I am moved by the transience of nature - the changing seasons and shifting moods of the sky. I am captivated by reflections and patterns on the surface of water - everything in a constant state of flux.
Although the temporary nature of human existence can be unsettling, impermanence is also the source of life’s great beauty and wonder.

I apply thick paint to paper or canvas in rhythmic brushstrokes that flow and intertwine as I explore the balance between permanence and impermanence of form, colour and shape. Colour plays a significant role in my creative process: I mix primary colours directly on the surface and let go of any set outcome to discover different colour combinations that emerge. I aim for a degree of abstraction that defies explicit interpretation, allowing viewers to infer the intricate interplay of thoughts, emotions, memories and my experience of the natural world.
